Blackberry Cobbler
Blackberry Cobbler
When I was growing up, my Granny lived out in the country on a farm in Emanuel County, Georgia. My brother and I would go stay a few days while we were on summer break from school. One of my favorite things to do was to ride the four wheelers up and down the dirt roads and around the fields on a mission to find the biggest, juiciest blackberries we could find (all while avoiding snakes in the "snakey" high grass-lol). We would pick a bunch of them and Granny would cook us a cobbler or make homemade jelly for us, once she had enough. Still to this day I savor the thought of making blackberry cobbler and eating it served steaming hot topped with vanilla ice cream. Makes me homesick for days of my youth, oh those were the carefree days....... If you long for carefree days of your childhood, I urge you to try this and let it take you back. Hope you enjoy smashing the plump juicy blackberries between your tongue and the roof of your mouth. Don't forget to look at your tongue in the mirror -- it is sure to have a purple stain (I know I'm not the only one impressed by this as a child). Enjoy!
